Records Management:
Outsourcing records management can help you prevent unauthorized persons from viewing your documents. Records are subject to a secure chain of custody, from collection to storage to destruction at the end of their life cycle. The offsite document storage process includes a comprehensive tracking system, which eliminates the need for your organization to devote staff time to filing.
Data Protection:
Securit recognizes that confidential information is also stored in many non-paper formats. However, these materials are subject to the same regulations and should be treated with the same high level of security.
Document Destruction:
One-time Shredding: A security screened and uniformed Customer Service Representative comes to your location, takes the material to the Shred-it truck, where it is then shredded on-site. A Certificate of Destruction is issued immediately post-shred.
On Demand: This is a fast and easy way to have your material destroyed as quickly and securely as possible; where we come to your location to pick up your documents and take them back to our facility for in-house shredding. In so doing, Shred-it commits to providing secure transportation of material from your location to our facility. Upon arrival at our facility, the material will be stored in a monitored and secure area and destroyed within 24 hours of receipt. The on-demand shredding service carries with it the same quality of service as you would expect from our on-site service.
Regularly Scheduled Service: This is a pre-scheduled service (with signed agreement). The shred can be scheduled on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis. Locked security consoles are delivered to your location (free of charge). It is based on a per-minute rate, and all pricing information is discussed by appointment with a representative.
Media Destruction:
This is a one-time shred. A fully security screened and uniformed CSR comes to your location, takes the material to the Shred-it truck, where it is then shredded on-site. Witnessing the shred is an option. A Certificate of Destruction is issued immediately post-shred. Costs are based on a per-unit price. Here are a few options of media to have destroyed: DLT tapes, LTO tapes, 4mm, 8mm, VHS, CDs, DVDs, hard drives, microfilm, microfiche, floppy disks, etc.
The Walk-in Service:
This is a service where you can present yourself at our Ottawa facility for immediate destruction. Report to reception and advise our receptionist of the number of cubic feet (or banker’s boxes) you have. You are to fill out an invoice with your name, address, telephone number, and amount of material. Our receptionist then verifies the information, calculates the price, and processes the payment. Our operations team will help you unload your boxes, attach Shred-it stickers, and verify the quantity. Once the material has been verified and signed off by our Customer Service Supervisor, the shredding team destroys the material, and Administration will then fax or email a Certificate of Destruction post-shred.
